Jesus, The Bread of Life

On a certain road, there were two men who were having a discussion.

Perhaps they were talking about how the church wounded them so very badly.

Or …

How rejected they feel from family and friends.

Or …

How the pain of gossip and slander is too hard to bear.

Or…

How distant God feels to them. He sure doesn’t sound good!

Suddenly, a third man joined their conversation and changed their focus to the Real and that’s when something began to happen within their hearts.

It wasn’t until they sat down to have a meal. They watched as that man took a loaf of bread, gave thanks for it and broke it - they could FINALLY see what what they had been missing all along.

Jesus

The pain and confusion evaporated and the One sitting before them was all that they needed.

Those two men…they represent me. And perhaps it’s you.

I have been betrayed-very badly and so painfully by a lot of people. I’ve sufferd tremendous hurt by churches, pastors, family, and friends. I should be preaching a different gospel; one wrought with confusion and disillusionment.

But it wasn’t until I came to the end of myself that I quieted every voice and focused only on Jesus.I patiently listened for HIS voice alone; looking for only Him in scripture. That’s when my “heart burned within me.”

When I sat down to study only Him and all that He accomplished on the cross one miraculous day, my eyes opened to the revelation of Him and who I was TO Him.

He is the bread of Life broken for us!

That was 5 years ago almost to the day.

Friends,

There is no pain, no betrayal, no church, no pastor, not situation life throws at you who can hurt you or steal your joy or identity when you have tasted and seen Jesus. And I mean REALLY SEE Him.

A revelation of Jesus and who you are IN HIM will ground you and make you secure, give you the unwavering courage and joy you can only have through Him.

I will never apologize or back down from this gospel that is and should be “good”. If your gospel isn’t good, perhaps you should ask Jesus to sit with you and break bread with you until your heart burns and you can finally see clearly.

Let Him wipe your tears and your pain away until your heart is satisfied. If your focus is on anything other than Him and you are wracked with worry, fear, anxiety or pain, that’s your invitation to sit at His table and behold only Him.

One more thing- for someone who needs to hear this:

Religion will remind you to get clean before you are accepted.

Grace whispers “ you are acceptable because you believed in Me and so- “as I am so are you”.

Just believe Him and receive.
