Listen: Joy to the World

Yesterday, we read that Jesus is the light of the world. Prophets were God’s special messengers to tell His people that a Rescuer would come to save them from darkness. Their prophecies gave the people hope as they eagerly waited for the coming Savior. Today’s passage was given by the prophet Isaiah hundreds of years before Jesus was born.

Today, as you light your first and second candle, reflect on this past week’s verses. The first candle was the Prophecy candle. Review some of the prophecies from the previous week. The second candle is the prelude to this coming week as we remember where Jesus was born- in the town of Bethlehem.
