First Courageous Men's Meeting
We had an awesome first Courageous Men’s Meeting this past Wednesday evening.
Daniel Murphy, one of our elders with a strong teaching gift, shared about how an “Outpouring of the Holy Spirit” comes individually and to a church as we learn to hear the voice of the Spirit. He gave the men some real practical advice and real life stories of how he’s surrendered to the voice of the Holy Spirit and seen remarkable results. In fact, the Lord has spared him from numerous bad impulsive decisions, as a man, because he chose to follow the leading of the Spirit. He used the biblical example of how Saul, with impatience and self-reliance, chose to sacrifice on his own versus obeying the voice of the Lord through Samuel the Prophet. The men were reminded that God’s way for his son’s is always best, God’s way requires patience, and God’s way is blessing through obedience. Great word of encouragement, Daniel!
The young men, in middle school and high school, participated in the larger group meeting and then played football with Pastor Ted. These young guys will all be going to youth camp at the end of June. This was a good time for them to build some greater camaraderie. The breakout small groups were electric with conversation, laughter, and prayer. This is a time for the men of LifeShare to build friendships by discussing our Sunday morning series called “Outpouring.” In this first session they discussed the topic, “The Gifts Are For You.” The men are encouraging each other to not only be a well of eternal life, but also a river that the Holy Spirit can flow through to bring the goodness of God to others. We are expecting all 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit to flow through the LifeShare men as they are activated in the Spirit.
