Metal Framing Going Up

God did it again! His timing is perfect with everything and this New LifeShare Church Building is no different. When we were needing help with metal framing, my longtime friend Josh Engler came to the rescue.

Josh and I go way back to 1999, when I led the Cgen Student Ministries (Chosen Generation) at Destiny Church, here in San Antonio. I asked God to bring me a gifted worship leader for the youth meetings, so I didn’t have to do everything and he sent the best. He sent the Engler family from Evansville, Indiana. Josh, and his brothers Justin and Jesse, were right there to help with everything from construction to worship. Josh became our worship leader and Justin was right by his side. The first project I asked them to build was a cool looking sound booth. Well, needless to say, they exceeded my expectations. Their father, John Engler had taught them the tricks of the trade and they had a work ethic that was second to none. It’s amazing how every relationship in life and more importantly in the kingdom matters. Sometimes we do life with people for many years, but other times it’s only seasonal. And then sometimes, God in his kindness, allows our lives to flow together again at a divine intersection.

So, this week Josh and I began planning and preparing for the metal framing step of our renovation. This coming Monday we will began erecting the walls and the inside of our worship space will begin to look like the vision we’ve been talking about. I’m super thrilled that I get to rely on Josh’s brain and only half of mine. This way I can keep thinking like a pastor to pray for you and to consider what the Lord is speaking to us through his Word. Actually, I do enjoy construction work because it helps me relax and relieve stress. However, as I’m now 47, my future goal in life is to be able to keep building things, but to be able to speak and point in hopes that some young guns will help with the physical stuff. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”, if you know what I mean.

Again, thanks for your faithfulness to the Lord with your tithes and offerings. As you build God’s house, he will supernaturally build your house. I believe he’s a God of sowing and reaping. He will honor what you give in faith toward the outpouring of His Spirit and the expansion of the Gospel here in San Antonio. May the Lord shine his face on you and your family!
