Back The Blue Outreach
Our Back the Blue Outreach was super cool! We were able to thank and give gifts to at least 50 police officers at the Prue Road Substation on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
The first group of Safe Officers, that deal with domestic conflict issues, came out into the lobby area because our group was too big to escort us to the roll call room. That would have violated their policies of how many citizens can come behind the security glass. Nevertheless, it still worked great as Brian King and Chris Flores were able to speak from their hearts about how much we at LifeShare Church really appreciate all they do to protect our community. These guys really sowed the Truth of God’s Word in a loving way, so the officers were eager to receive the encouragement.
Then when we started handing out $10 Starbuck Gift Cards for a pick-me-up coffee, the smiles started breaking out like crazy. Then when we introduced Mr. Pete Chick-Fil-A with hot golden chicken nuggets, it was over. We became their favorite San Antonian’s and LifeShare Church became the best church in the city. It’s amazing what a smile and some gifts will do to bring joy to some weary warriors.
LifeShare Church, marketplace ministries is where it is at. We are going to continue to take Jesus to the streets. We are going to make Him known through acts of love, kindness, and grace. Let’s keep making Jesus the great God that He is, by obeying his commands to share the good news wherever we go. Keep letting your light shine, it’s working!
