Prophetic Ministry
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
Prophetic Ministry is a part of the Healing Ministry of LifeShare Church. The prophetic can provide healing in multiple ways:
It brings comfort, encouragement and strength.
It sharpens the believer’s spiritual ears to hear the Holy Spirit speaking.
It releases the believer into their spiritual giftings.
It equips the body of Christ with grace and maturity.
It brings confirmation of the leading of the Holy Spirit.
“Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:1-4
Prophetic Expression
Pre-Service Prayer - Beginning at 9:30 am, all are invited to come early and pray for the service, and to listen to what God is releasing over that Sunday’s service. At 9:45, we will gather at the back to pray and release those words prophetically. This brings a higher level of hope and faith for the day.
Prophetic Teams - Every Sunday, after service, trained leaders within LifeShare Church offer a brief time to minister prophetically to those visiting and those within the church body.
Prophet - Once a year, LifeShare will host a man or woman of God who operates in the Apostolic role of Prophet to minister to the entire church. This leader will have a good and proven reputation, strength of character, and will be submitted to the leaders of their home church with a heart to strengthen and edify our church body.
Prophetic Presbytery - Two times a year, LifeShare will offer a scheduled time for members to receive a concentrated time of ministry by the mature leaders of our prophetic team. “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.” I Timothy 4:14
What to do with your prophetic word
“But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.” Luke 2:19
While receiving prophetic ministry, record the ministry time on your phone so that you can listen back to it.
Later, write down your word in a journal. In so doing, you can go back and remind yourself of the words. Sometimes the words don’t seem to mean as much now, but will have greater depth of meaning later. “Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets that he may run who reads it.’” Habakkuk 2:2
After your time of prophetic ministry, there is an opportunity to give feedback to ensure the prophetic ministry was comforting, encouraging and strengthening.
Did the word:
Align with the Word of God?
Align with the way God made you to be?
Confirm previous prophetic words or something God has already spoken to you.
Agree with the Holy Spirit within you?
“And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Galatians 4:6
Position yourself with the word if necessary. Ex. If your word included something to do with studying God’s word, discipline yourself to study the Word. If the word included music, get the training necessary. Just because words are given does not mean it will happen automatically unless you take responsibility to steward what you have been given.
If the word did not come into agreement with anything listed above, you have the power to discard the word.
“This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare.” 1 Timothy 1:18
